I learned about how to render sketches with colors and tried my hand at painting the second face from the SamDoesArts "Portraits 101" tutorial.

I continue with the "Portrait 101" tutorial I started with, this time attempting the second of three faces. And then attempting again. And again. And a few more times after that.

I painted a second eye, but this one has a mechanical iris inspired by steampunk iris valves. And better facial shading.

I bought myself a digital painting tablet for my birthday. Look how I break in my new toys! (See what I did there? (Ok, I'll stop now.))

In this piece, I try to reinforce all the lessons learned with a different portrait.

I draw the same portrait as last time, but this time I slowed down to try to get it right. And I kill the hair beret.

I tried a head! It technically worked out...

I experiment with a new medium and measurement technique. Plus, I remember that straightedges exist.

I continue on with my studies of Mikaila Dimova. This one is her bust.

My first piece took a really long time, but came out better than I thought it would.
